Zach Kunuk to attend documentary screening via Skype
Jared Morrison, Experience Congress 2011
Ian Mauro and Zach Kunuk, co-founders of the Inuit Knowledge and Climate Change Project, will both be present at the screening of their film Inuit Knowledge and Climate Change on May 31st at 4:00PM.
Previously it had been announced that Ian Mauro would be alone for Q&A after the film, but Dr. Mauro confirmed today that Zacharias Kunuk will also take questions via live video feed over Skype.
Zach Kunuk is a multiple award-winning Canadian filmmaker. His debut feature Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner won the esteemed Golden Camera Award for Best First Feature Film at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.
Inuit Knowledge and Climate Change is the first ever Inuktitut language documentary on climate change, inviting viewers to traverse the Arctic in High Definition and meet with Inuit elders and hunters to learn of the drastic changes that have occurred within their communities.
After seeing these first-hand accounts of the ecological impact of climate change as well as its social impact on Inuit culture, the audience can participate in a lively discussion from the minds of the filmmakers themselves.
